NEATFish accredits top tournaments in 2010

The NEATFish environmental standard for fishing tournaments has been busy in 2010 with several tournaments running through the process.
The Exmouth GameFishing Club is holding Gamex 2010 at Exmouth from 19th till 27th March. Gamex scored a 4 star rating for its environmentally friendly tag and release format targeting billfish, sharks and other pelagic fish. More information is available at www.egfc.com.au.
At the other end of the country, The Discovery Family Fishing Carnival is being held at the Discovery Holiday Park, Jindabyne, also on the 19th March. This 4 star event rated well for its family-oriented format. For more information go to http://www.swtroutfishing.com.au/Fishing%20Competitions.htm

The latest tournament to become accredited through NEATFish is the 2010 Pirtek Fishing Challenge. The Pirtek challenge is in its second year and boasts a unique national catch and release format. Tournament Director, Michael Guest commented, "The Pirtek Fishing Challenge is excited to have NEATFish certification and we will work hard to improve our great rating of 4-stars to the maximum 5-stars in 2011".
